I first met Katy a few months ago at a local Rising Tide Society meeting where she shared about her new calligraphy business, Lewes Lettering Co. I was inspired by her passion and unique talent for the dying art of handwritten treasures. So, when she reached out to me a few weeks before her wedding, I was thrilled. Working with a fellow creative is always a treat, especially one who knows the wedding biz so well herself, and has killer style!
I didn’t meet Mike until the wedding day, and truthfully, didn’t know much of anything about Mike and Katy’s love story beforehand. So, through my viewfinder, on a breezy September evening in front of their closest friends and family and the ocean below, I witnessed their handwritten vows to each other. I learned how they were high school sweethearts who had endured time and miles apart as Mike was a Merchant Marine, and now they live a happy life together by the beach with their beloved pup. I’m not gonna lie to you, I had to bite my lip and hold back tears quite a few times throughout the day. Their love was so completely obvious in even the smallest details of the their wedding day.
P.S. I highly recommend Herring Point at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, DE as a venue. My gosh is it gorgeous!!
